Jessica (Esther Maria Pietsch), an ambitious cello student, and her boyfriend Lorenz (Matthias Lier) move into their first apartment together. When Jessica learns that she has been selected to represent Germany in the renowned “Young Classix Award” in Moscow, it is her big chance. The two enjoy their new life and their new home. But dark clouds soon gather, because the neighbors, an elderly couple (Tanja Seibt and Hermann Beyer), seem to feel disturbed. While Lorenz is out of the house during the day, Jessica prepares for the competition at home. Her tension increases daily. She also finds herself exposed to minor and major anonymous harassment, which she attributes to the neighbors. Lorenz is unaware of the strain on the young couple's happiness and the difficulties they face in their new home. Driven by her ambition and perfectionism, Jessica slowly begins to blur the lines between reality and imagination. She practices like a maniac, often seems absent and can no longer find any peace at night. Friends become opponents, neighbors become watchdogs, the new home a self-imposed prison, music a nightmare. Finally, Lorenz suggests moving out again to save the relationship. But Jessica has no intention of letting the two old men force her out of her apartment and into a new life. She has long since lost sight of the competition. In the desperate hope that this will restore her happiness, she now wants to defend her home – whatever the cost...
