Russian Tsarist Empire in 1905: After the lost war against Japan there are riots and protests due to great social injustice. On the armoured cruiser Potemkin anchored off Odessa, the sailors' displeasure is ignited by spoiled meat that they do not want to eat. Perhaps no work has had such a lasting influence on film as an art form as "Battleship Potemkin". The parable-like story of the socialist revolution established an aesthetic upheaval in narrative style.
