Berlin is in Germany

Everyday life/Drama, Germany 2001

After more than eleven years in prison, Martin Schulz, 36, is released into freedom. The former GDR citizen experienced the fall of the Berlin Wall behind bars. Full of humour and verve, Martin tries to find his way in his new world. He hesitantly makes contact with his wife and eleven-year-old son. ‘‘'Berlin is in Germany’ lives from a very human sarcasm and is one of the most humanly moving films about coexistence and encounters between East and West, about crashes and upheavals in the new Germany.’ (Wolfgang Hamdorf, on: filmdienst.de)
