Hannes meets the shadow of an old medicine man named Ubalumba, who enables him to be strong, fast and invisible. The shadow promises Hannes that he will be his shadow from now on and all of a sudden Hannes succeeds in things he had only dreamed of before: he defeats the Gringos and impresses Birkenpappel at school. Hannes feels better and stronger than ever in his life, but suddenly his friends do not recognize him anymore.
